Kids and pets

My tip for photographing children and pets is to catch them in their natural enviroment. They will look happier and much more natural than if you make them pose. This is not to say you shouldn't ever make them pose, but you will be taking pictures that you will one day treasure if you take pictures of the simple, everyday things you take for granted. Posed pictures are fine, of course, but not every time. You can take pictures of things that aren't particularly cute, but they could be funny, unusual, or anything else you think you might want to remember some day.

And there's often good results when you take a picture without them knowing it:

Moonlight

With a camera like mine it is difficult to have a clear picture with so little light. What I suggest is finding a place to rest your camera, such as the back of a chair or on a table, and that should minimize the shaking. Otherwise, if you want to, you could buy a tripod. If you plan to use it often, it's a great thing to get.

And, naturally, take more than one picture. What looks good on the tiny screen too often is not as great when you see it on the computer, because of tiny details you did not notice earlier or blurryness.

Far-away land

In a far away land, many years ago... lived a princess in a castle.

Actually... that's Barcelona. Yep, "El Parc de la Ciutadella" and in fact this picture was taken just a little over a week ago. The light itself was like that, if I remember correctly, little or no underexposure was used in neither the first nor the second picture. I think this place is actually the Zoo museum or something like that. Whatever it is, it looks neat!

Spring came!

Much to my surprise, and as a photographer, joy, spring came early this year. Or so the newspapers say. Which basically means I am going to get tons of flowers to photograph, which you may have noticed are an old favorite of mine. Along with water. And my cat, Vainilla, who has- unfortunately- learned to close his eyes when I take his picture. And the beach, now that I think of it, and leaves. Okay, let's just say I like to take pictures of nature.

In honor of this awesome, great, breath-taking arrival I am going to be posting lots and lots of pictures of flowers.

Actually, this wasn't recent at all, it was taken in Moià last December. I like it because it looks like a very beautiful explosion of color.

This flower, and plenty of others, I discovered right in my backyard last Saturday, which demostrates, yet again, that you needn't go far from home to take good pictures.

This is- you guessed it- one of my cyclamens on my window sill.

And this final one is just too cute to leave it out. More to come! Don't be afraid to tell me what you think.

Trip to the snow

This is from a day our youth group went to the snow to go sledding and in general, just have fun! As you can see, we did, and I also got the chance to take several pictures.

This is the view by the hospital in Berga, on our way back. We waited a long time there, but well, we had a good time anyway!
