Just so that you know
1. I have taken all the photographs in the blog, unless otherwise specified and with previous permission from the photographer. However, I will try to continue using only my pics for the blog.
2. Please do not copy my photographs. They are protected by copyright and by taking them you would be breaking the law.
3. Thank you for coming to my blog. Please comment so that I will know your opinion. You don't even need to include your name, just give me some feedback. Are the photographs terrible? Have you had any problem with photos not showing up? Whatever it is, let me know.
And finally: Go take pictures! (after you've seen all the latest pictures, of course)

Roses, part II
Here is the same rose, and two pictures taken one right after the other. But obviously the perspective changed the mood. The first picture is a beautiful rose, with nothing in the back to distract you from it, but for some reason I prefer the second, seen in clear detail (using macro, in case you're interested), and with a vivid (albeit, distracting) background.
What about you? Which do you like best?

Change your perspective
Don't settle for just a pretty picture.
Find the perfect perspective for every image and every mood.

Up, up and... they did it!
Some events require careful eye and good timing. Can you imagine: "Hey, please baptise her again, I didn't get a good picture"? You can't do it. This is why you should be prepared: flash, perspective, light, exposure, etc., all must be ready for the moment when you take the picture. The faster your camera is between shots, the better, of course.
And everyone who's used a digital camera can tell you that the worst feeling is to be ready to take a picture and have no batteries.

More on blurry pictures- and cats
This picture is a picture of Vainilla exploring the garden. It would be great if it weren't blurry, you might think. However, the blurriness of the feet just gives a more defined look of movement, which is exactly what the picture was meant to capture.
You can use the movement of an animal to your advantage, as you can see.
On the other hand, this picture, while it is similar, gives a different mood to the little kitten. He's still moving, but not quite as much, and he looks rather curious. This is one of the reasons why you shouldn't settle for one or two pictures. A digital camera, especially, gives you the possibility to take several hundred pictures, which, naturally, gives you a higher percentage of good pictures. If there are two-hundred pictures of a cat, a good fifty are likely to be very good and maybe twenty will be great.

Hi!
Hi! This is Estrelleta.
I've been toying with the idea of creating a blog for myself for a long time, okay, four months. The whole reason I didn't do it right away was because I knew that I would be away most of the summer, and, well, creating a blog and directly abandoning it (not to mention forgetting my password) is not the best of starts. Also, I didn't know if I would always have much to say. What can I tell other people that they don't already know?
Looking through my pictures I realized that one of my passions, photography, is an excellent subject for a blog. So, I hope that you like my photos, and if you don't, too bad. I'll be publishing my favorite pictures. Later on, if somebody wants me to, I can also publish my worst pictures and explain what went wrong, or give some simple tips to improve your photography skills.
Anyway, look around and enjoy!

Cats: Vainilla, part I
Animals are harder to photograph than, for example, scenery. Animals move, close their eyes, move... oh, did I mention move?
Take cats. Some cats are naturally more photogenic than others. My younger cat, Vainilla- not quite a kitten any longer- is such a cat. A cat can also be taken from many points of view. Depends on your context, mood, perspective, etc., your picture can be surprisingly different, even if the subject is the same:
Funny
Cute
Tiny
Roses, part I
There are many ways to capture a rose in a picture.
