St Jordi

St. Jordi is a celebration that's done in Catalunya, on the 23rd of April, in which we celebrate love and literature. Roses are very typical of this day, as well as seeing the Catalan flag everywhere (it has thin red and yellow stripes) and book stands everywhere. There is also a legend about how St. Jordi killed a dragon to save his princess.

More Roses

In case you're wondering, this rose just keeps on popping up in my garden so I just keep on photographing it :). It's actually kind of uplifting to leave the house when it's so cold and see a bright pink rose right there, as if it didn't care that it's not really the time for it to bloom.

Other flowers, part I

These two are roses, but I like them and I just found them, so I thought I'd include them. You don't mind, do you?

Roses, part II

Here is the same rose, and two pictures taken one right after the other. But obviously the perspective changed the mood. The first picture is a beautiful rose, with nothing in the back to distract you from it, but for some reason I prefer the second, seen in clear detail (using macro, in case you're interested), and with a vivid (albeit, distracting) background.
What about you? Which do you like best?

Roses, part I

There are many ways to capture a rose in a picture.
